Chapter 4 – Reporting (Services) in Microsoft Dynamics® NAV 2009: Microsoft Dynamics® NAV 2009 RoleTailored Client offers the new capability using Reporting Services to design Reports. Most of you have been using the Report Designer of Microsoft Dynamics® NAV for some time and you know about its advantages and disadvantages. What is different in using Reporting Services with version 2009, 5.0 or lower? What are the differences between NAV Reporting Designer and Reporting Services in NAV 2009? Chapter 5 – Web Services in Microsoft Dynamics® NAV 2009: This chapter gives a short general introduction to Web Services and shows how Web Services can be used with Microsoft Dynamics® NAV 2009. Various examples how these Web Services can be consumed in either Visual Studio® 2005 or Visual Studio® 2008 are described. At the end of the chapter the limitations of Web Services in combination with Microsoft Dynamics® NAV 2009 are pointed out.
Chapter 6 – Update and Transforming Forms: This chapter shows the different transforming approaches and tools that are available in Microsoft Dynamics® NAV 2009 to transform forms used in Classic Client to pages used in the RoleTailored Client. Again, many examples point out the possibilities when transforming forms to pages.
